Better Man

2024

★★★★ Watched

In a time when audiences crave originality, fresh ideas, new movies, fewer franchises, and sequels, Better Man takes a bold swing at reimagining the biopic genre, and damn, it works! I never thought I’d leave a theater feeling so emotionally connected to a CGI monkey, yet here we are. The film fully immerses you in its unique vision, perfectly capturing the guilt, trauma, euphoria, and consumption Robbie Williams sought to convey. The musical elements were completely electric and incredibly stunning.…

Drove 2.5 hours to experience this masterful picture in IMAX…my god

I don’t think I’ve been in a showing before where the crowd was this perfect. You could hear a needle drop during every silent moment. Interstellar is always an emotional experience, but this particular viewing will stay with me for a long time. Guilt, hopelessness, awe, irrational, speechless…love. I couldn’t have been more memorized, truly a beautiful spectacle.

Predator: Killer of Killers

2025

★★★★ Watched

The concept is irable, placing predators in time periods was incredibly immersive to watch unfold. It's why animation remains such a powerful medium for storytelling. Each predator's design was striking, and their kills were brutally effective, everything you crave from a predator movie. This was intense, and so much fun.

As for the expanded universe, I'm not entirely sold, but I'm curious to see where Badlands takes us next in the Dan Trachtenberg era!

Karate Kid: Legends

2025

★★½ Watched

At its core, I felt like there was something promising here, a likable main character, solid fight choreography, and strong senseis to student dynamic. Those elements still hold up, but they’re not enough to carry this on its own. And that’s such a letdown, especially considering how much I love this universe.

The pacing felt rushed, with no time spent developing real conflict. The fight editing was all over the place, some moments showcased technique, while others were reduced to…

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

2025

★★★★½ Watched

Already planning my next rewatch this weekend! Quick initial thoughts, the first hour and a half can be a bit jarring, and a little messy. Once it ramps up though it’s a hell of a time! Back to back stunts being some of the best in the franchise. They’re bigger, bolder, and absolutely exhilarating. Wanting to hold my breath with Ethan will never not be a thing.

Fantastic start to the blockbuster season

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning

Brought back the Dutch angles!!

The more I rewatch this, the more I appreciate how incredibly well-paced it is. Despite the 3-hour runtime, it flies by with one amazing scene after the next that never lose momentum. The dialogue is sharp and intense, keeping me on the edge of my seat every time. Also one of the more humorous entries in the franchise. Sure, it can get ridiculous at times, but I’ll always eat it up. Yes, this sures Rogue Nation, mainly because I find myself totally immersed every time I watch this. BRING ON FINAL RECKONING!!!
