Zelary tells its story as simple as the lifestyle of its protagonists. There Fassbinder tones every now and then, offering a wide span of emotions and experiences.

Surprisingly enjoyable and compelling. The film's unevenness often works in its favour, and the fact that it now seems extremely dated it doesn't matter one bit.

Blue Velvet is a beautiful treatment of ugly material. Surprisingly, the film fascinates a lot of people. It's the kind of "art" that's disturbing with weak writing, a failed attempt at "cinematography", an extremely annoying performance by Laura Dern who whispers through the whole film and Frank's disturbing story-line that can only be written by an equally disturbed person.

"I hated school as a kid," *laughs uncontrollably* "my mother would say, 'You should enjoy it. One day you’ll have to work for a living.' No, I won’t, ma. I’m going to be a comedian."
