VFG31 - 2/31 - Romance

Opted for Universal's original Creature from the Black Lagoon for romantic horror day. It qualifies through tapping into that tried and true taboo of monster seeking woman seeking monster. But only slightly, cause the majority of this is just some hairy-chested mid-50's Hollywood studs on a boat trying to kill the poor thing. Another atomic age sci-fi classic that I just love so much. Feels fairly underrated for as much of a monolith as it is. Beautifully crafted terror time in monochromatic form that I desperately need to see in its true 3D presentation someday. But today, the UHD upgrade was sufficient enough, even if it looked way too smooth and almost AI-blurred at times. Hope James Wan's alleged remake drops soon!
