Was not expecting so much connection with Prometheus which was a nice surprise. At times it feels like the closest thing we’ll get to seeing an “Alien: Special Edition” with updated effects a la George Lucas but it’s the performance*s* from Michael Fassbender that save it from being no more than a mediocre retread. There are a couple of scenes in this movie involving his characters that are some of the strangest and most captivating bits of cinema I’ve seen…
