So creepy and underrated. Billy the Dummy is like if Slappy from Goosebumps actually killed people!! 😆 Mary Shaw is absolutely terrifying and definitely one of James Wan’s scariest creations.

That Billy the Puppet from Saw easter egg took me by surprise, as I never noticed when I first watched this. The score is perfection as well with the help of Charlie Clo, who’s created the iconic soundtrack from the Saw franchise as well.

I just think this movie deserves so much more love. Billy & Mary Shaw forever!!

For me this is the best in the franchise. All segments were entertaining and had a cohesiveness that made it feel like one movie overall. The order of the shorts really worked too! So happy for this franchise and all the wonderful directors that have worked on it over the years. I expect we’ll see more great things from V/H/S going forward. Bravo and Brava!

In an increasingly overcrowded sea of shark horror movies, leave it to the director of The Loved Ones and The Devil’s Candy, Sean Byrne, to give the well-trodden subgenre a welcome shakeup with a potentially game-changing entry. Dangerous Animals features cinema’s favorite ocean predator and terrifying feeding frenzies, but they’re merely the modus operandi of one sadistic and charismatic serial killer. It’s a smart approach that yields no shortage of breathless thrills and nerve-fraying chills in an adrenaline rush of a summer horror film that never sacrifices on character.

Having never read the popular books I didn’t know any of the lore but I could see this world produce more “Frendo” flicks in the future for sure (especially since there’s a bunch of books it seems).
Taking a slightly more serious approach to this than his black comedy/horror cult hit TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL, director Eli Craig infuses humor and even a little heart into this fun, well-crafted slasher with a few cool twists up it’s clown costumed…

Aislinn Clarke's second feature film is more of a proclamation that she has ARRIVED as a prominent director as opposed to simply being a promising director. The girl is kicking ass and taking no prisoners. A sophomoric effort, I think NOT!

I would expect a film like this from a seasoned vet in the directors chair. She's an old soul, with depth, precision and maturity well beyond her years! The proof of the pudding is in the eating! Enjoy :-)…

I’m sold immediately on Irish folk-horror. I didn’t know much about this going in, just a few liked reviews and then saw it was featured on Shudder. It’s a beautifully shot and remarkably acted slow burn, as you would expect from a folk horror tale. Genuinely unsettling at times and pays off extremely well at the end. Already planning a rewatch soon with the lights off and my full attention

Totally forgot where this one went. Smh, some really authentic body horror and gross infection progression. It's a grimy little gem that isn’t afraid to go there, and by "there," I mean deep into the land of flesh-rotting discomfort. It’s a tight, steadily spiraling descent into decay, where every scene leaves you a little more grossed out (in the best way possible). The practical effects are disturbingly real. Props to the makeup team for making you feel every inch of…

This was honestly a pretty wild film.   I had heard a lot of hype on how disturbing and disgusting this film was and so I was pumped on this and ready, and honestly I thought it was gonna disappoint until the finale when it even made me feel queasy.  This movie is the definition of a grim fairytale done really well, making you love and hate the Ugly Stepsister while also needing to know what is happening with her.…

tape worms, maggots & rotting corpses galore.

the ugly step sister is unapologetically unhinged, batshit and beautifully gruesome. a body horror retelling of the classic fairytale cinderella we all know and love, much like in the vein of the substance given it tackles the same ridiculously insane beauty standards subject with a bit of a more fucked up twist. the set, cinematography & costume designs are gorgeous and the performances are very good. not at all for the squeamish or the weak stomached I’ll tell you that much (positive) this one’s for the sick fucks.
