“So you never wanted a regular type life?”

“What the fuck is that? Barbecues and ballgames?”

Pacino and De Niro are two of the very best actors we will ever see, to have them both operating at this level portraying these perfectly written characters is truly a gift. The restaurant scene between the two is arguably one of the best ever and the most important in this nearly 3 hour runtime.

You add to this Mann’s direction and those intense…

Matt Reeves absolutely cooked here.

The way he shows the conflict is the standout for me, whether it between the Apes and Humans or within the individual groups themselves. He shows how Caesar completely understands this as well, as his character continues to grow and is an integral part to the success of this trilogy.

Pretty great stuff, very dialogue heavy and mostly set in only 2 locations which are both things that I tend to love, funnier than expected, great performances from the leads and a really satisfying ending and final shot.

Also fantastic as a New York film.

So many of the “problems” I had last time didn’t bother me as much (or at all) on rewatch and I just had a blast from start to finish.

Tramell Tillman really does steal the show in only a handful of scenes, Pom Klementieff is great as well and those two are easily my favourites of the side characters.

What else to say, Tom Cruise is a maniac, Benji’s the goat and such a great monologue to end it all.

I love this universe, the whole style and lore is so cool to me, and the action is insane, brilliant from start to finish and they’re always coming up with new creative sequences (you know the one)

Ana de Armas does a great job leading her first major action film and it was nice seeing some familiar faces.

I also watched this in Dolby and the sound design was absolutely insane, especially anytime *that* shotgun was fired.

It doesn’t offer…
