Nosferatu

Seeing Nosferatu for the first time is both creepily jarring and kinda funny. Knowing that he uses his fanged bucked teeth to suck the front of victim’s necks makes me giggle. However, watching that skinny lil freak walk around (especially when he’s carrying his own coffin around) is so c*nty to me. Like he literally serves!

Ok I have tea: I was so unbelievably close to booking one of these roles in this movie (you can definitely guess who) so I was curious as to what the person who got cast did with the role. Turns out, he was so fun and great! Also, it would have been weird to book this role because if I did, I would have had to make out with a former student of mine.

ANYWAYS, the movie is fine. Great premise but execution felt a bit mid.

Ooh baby!! The juxtaposition of this rich, prestige, Oscar bait of a film and the low brow RuPaul’s Drag Race Untucked, tea spilling drama is just so delicious!! These petty little queens- ahem, sorry cardinals- air out the most soap opera level chisme you’ve ever heard. Match that with some of the most beautiful cinematography you’ve ever seen, and you get a strong contender for this year’s Academy Awards!

Want to see a movie that will take your breath away? Some of these shots are jaw-droppingly beautiful. Movies like these make me nervous because I’m always scared that a major plot element is queer suffering through a cis-het lens but there was not really any of that happening. Gorgeous, lush, gay. I loved it.
