first of all. THREE DRAG QUEENS IN A CAR. that’s it. that’s the review.
but also it’s not, bc they give ACTING, they give LOOKS. they give LIFE.
this isn’t just a campy little road trip—this is a full-on drag divinity pilgrimage, with laughs, shade, love, politics and more fabulous outfits than i own in my entire closet (and i thrift religiously).
this was pure 90s queer joy, hope and resistance wrapped in sequins!! it’s giving pride, legend behavior, it’s giving “get in loser, we’re empowering small-town women through gender expression”.
it’s so rare to see something this full of heart that doesn’t condescend or mock, but actually uplifts.
what gets me is how unashamedly tender it is; it’s silly and loud and sparkly and STILL manages to be about community, survival, chosen family.....and lipstick.
why did this make me cry AND wanna slay a runway at the same time??? like i was laughing one sec and then suddenly sobbing over a drag queen fixing the world with lipstick and love?? cinema actually WON in this movie
i wanna live in a world where drag queens are the moral backbone of society and the government is run like a pageant!!
also i would die for all 3 of them 💖💖💖
