Milesware’s review published on Letterboxd:
There’s a definitively acute visual instinct for the extreme, with decent momentum, that is, at the very least, charming. Though the unfortunate reality is that, despite everything, Revenge is to New French Extremity what mediocre Sundance darlings are to American indie feel-good tendencies.
The film seems well aware of its own silliness, yet it feels unprepared for the full effects of its one-dimensional nature, which oftentimes turns into overly goofy, my roommate’s average CS:GO game looking, hide-and-seek encounters, where it shows little interest in justifying its otherwise uninteresting antics. The saving grace is a director determined to have a voice; the cuts and direction make for a tonally chaotic but stylistically consistent work - she just deserves a better script. 5/10.
