Is it really the right approach to try to understand what Godard wanted to say in any of his work from the last few years. Is there really anything to understand? Expose du film annonce du film “Scenario” reveals the intricacies of his pre-production process. “Scenarios” is not the “Scenario” announced in Expose. It is a testament of sorts, completed literally the day before his assisted suicide procedure. I'd say it's the closest cinematic equivalent to a stream of consciousness novel. Portrait of the artist as an old man. The value is not in what it says but in what it is. I found it poignant.

Girltrash: All Night Long

A shitty romcom/musical, so dull, clichéd and stupid that neither the raunchy lyrics nor the fact that all characters are lesbian are of any help. It's bad enough in itself, but especially frustrating that it’s made from a cheap little 2007 web series that wasn't even finished due to lack of funding, but was one hot, witty and hilarious, all-girl, all-lesbian badass neo-noir romp. Has anything ever been rebooted, with the same cast no less, to be watered down and ruined to this extent?

An actual documentary about Kim's Video would be interesting to me, even the most conventional and unambitious one. But that's not what this is. This is one annoying guy with too much time on his hands and penchant for harassing and stalking people desperately trying to stage an investigation of a mystery where there isn't one. I can sympathize with his love of movies, but most of this is just cringe.

An impeccably made and for the most part enjoyable big-budget mainstream film, something of a miracle in this day and age, so I can almost understand the hype. But that's all this really is. I guess I'm in the distinct minority on this one, but I strongly preferred the first half and wanted it to remain a drama/musical throughout. Sorry, but the horror portion is just the most generic rehashing of long-worn mythos and milking the dustiest of dusty tropes…
