I saw this in theaters and they opened to the audience for a discussion and someone in the crowd said it felt like we were watching his “inner monologue” and i loved that bc I think that’s exactly what he wanted it to feel like since so many times blk queer folks have been silenced this was a chance to make a film that centers authentic stories around the complexities of being both blk and queer!
