Having only watched this once over a decade ago, I found this so, so much better than I ed on a revisit. After watching Arrival so recently, it's pretty startling how much of it reminds me of this, especially its themes, narrative structure, and recontextualisation of events we've seen already. They work shockingly well as an unlikely double bill, and I love them for a lot of the same reasons. This is certainly the better of the two -- it's edited and styled incredibly uniquely, in a way that's quietly unsettling and both hilarious and upsetting at the same time, with exceptional performances all around -- and it's become an instant favourite.
