The Man Who Knew Too Much

1956

★★★★ Watched

Jimmy and Doris are stellar as a married coupled teamed up to match wits with a group of evil doers who did them wrong. Not sure all their actions and activity were believable and the movie did not age perfectly, but the charisma of these leads are unmatched.

The Ballad of Wallis Island

Funny, hilarious in spots... beautifully shot, stunning in spots. All wrapped in a clever script, predictable in spots. A very fun watch from start to finish. Easy to consume as well as getting emotionally connected to each character and the events and island that bring them together.

Marty

1955

★★★★★ Watched

What a wonderful character and man Marty is. From the start I was rooting for him to find the love and happiness he did not think he deserved.

And his struggle was not just within himself, but seemingly all his inner circle, who seemed to mistake the nice facade with a true happiness.

And I barely seen Marty in his shop, but I know he's a great butcher.

Suspicion

Seen thru the - rightly so - suspicious eyes and ears of the expertly cast Joan Fontaine, this tale generates the right mix of intrigue, mystery, and romance to make it work. Cary Grant as almost every Cary Grant character, does what he does, which also works. It's also classic Hitchcock, which plays out like a sophisticated tight zone episode.
