Yesterday i watched Vivre Sa Vie and was reminded that i needed to watch this film. Anna Karina cries whilst watching it at the cinema and I cried whilst watching it this morning at home at 6am (coz jet lag). What a beautiful and tragic movie that amplifies the power of THE FACE on screen and the physicality of expression. Dreyer is potent, indulgent and dramatic as fuck. I was completely enthralled. I wish i’d watched this sooner in life.

i can’t believe it took me so long to get to this. a wonderfully accurate depiction of the stance of an artist, the value of beauty, the alchemy of art and commerce colliding. fuckery, sex, intelligence, great songs, drugs, dirt, the desire for more, sunglasses 24/7, hating la and sometimes really fucking hating eachother.

wow. amazing performances. the interiors. the sofa shop. the supermarket checkout. so heartbreaking. so british. so london. plus a fox!

literally sat in the car leaving the screening of this movie feeling like i’m reeling. sound design on point, undeniable performances and the transition from charming boyhood to total fucking chaos left me shook. it’s so confusing sometimes to be a BOY.

halloween 2025

some really great party footage in here. and fashion choices. i love watching drunk people. it’s a shame nothing is truly this wild and fucked up anymore. security is tighter and people are more anxious and less wasted i guess :( the vj musical edit of all the different live footage during the gossip remix is super effective - an edit style that always gets me hype. opening credits are cute. shout out to my tour manager who is also in this movie. ps catch the altern 8 drop ;)

sat next to halina in the theatre and she cried and was so happy and excited for harris and that was generally the vibe of the whole thing. everyone is rooting for him and everyone clapped forever and it really felt deserved. atmosphere on point. go off harris, go off!
