A truly devastating, haunting, and achingly human portrayal of mental illness. James gives a tour-de-force performance, which is well anchored by an apt ing cast. David Henrie (of Wizards of Waverly Place fame) stands out as a love interest for Paul's long-suffering daughter. Henrie shines as the boy that not enough people notice, but wish they could have known better.
But it is the performance of Kevin James that excites the emotions and moves the audience. His portrayal of such a damaged soul is a true powerhouse.
See Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. For it is the most important film of 2015, thus far and likely for the rest of the year.

Ok so, I watched this on mute synced up with Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon while high and it was a legit transcendental experience. Here’s a few notes
- Paul Blarts Mum gets hit by a truck the second the lyrics for “Breath In The Air” kick in and that song is a perfect backdrop for watching Blarts life fall apart
- Great Gig In The Sky plays during both when Blart is dancing on his Segway and also when he dances in the Cirque Du Soleil and it turns these scenes into the graceful poetic moments, it blew my mind
- Brain Damage plays when Blart goes outside and sits on the grass as the lyric “The…

I watched this for the mcelroy brothers' podcast til death do us blart but my god I didn't realize it would have a chekhov's ....... electric fork, include a line so mind-numbingly unintentionally bad it killed basic syntactical and grammatical rules and then me ("I don't think you have a clue to who you're messing with") and - god forgive me for this but it's the truth - prove just by virtue of its very existence that cinema stumbled upon the exact conceptual reverse of an orgasm before science could. if only the horse that kicked him so fucking hard he slammed into a car and dented it had killed him.

For a good amount of its runtime I was thinking to myself how could someone make something so painfully unfunny, uninspired and boring filled with juvenile humor, annoying characters and dumb gags, then I ed I was watching Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.

When he says "the lunatic is on the grass", it's the only time we ever see Paul Blart on grass.
