Falling asleep with the TV on and waking up to its noise, walking outside with music in your ears, sitting on the bus watching something on your phone, working with headphones on, or eating alone while consuming media—these are all ways Ji-na fills her days. She is constantly surrounded by sound and distraction, never experiencing a moment of true silence. But all of it is artificial.
Every sound she hears comes from a digital device. Every conversation happens over the phone or online. Every meal she shares is with someone who exists only on a screen.
