I have been washed in the holy blood of perfect cinema.

Really a tale of two different movies but Domhnall Gleeson being in another Apple TV project (boooooo!) in a really sleazy scum bag role (yayyyyyy!!) made it worth it!

There is a moment in this nearly 3-hour film that is so brief, so quaint, so fleeting, yet is the perfect encapsulation of who Ethan Hunt is and how he truly, along with his endearing IMF team, lives and dies in the shadows, for those they hold close and, more importantly, for those they never meet.
I've thought about that short-lived sequence many times since seeing this movie. I am moved each and every time.
Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning…
“It’s all perspective, friend.”
An installment of a behemoth of a franchise that simultaneously understands its nearly 30 year foundation and indulges in every single second of it while pressing forward, doing cooler shit, and being undeniably silly. I also love how Luther’s ending monologue can be read as a meta text for Tom Cruise and his movie stardom - impacting every single person on the planet whether they know it or not. Pretty neat stuff 😊
