I really wanted to like this movie but it just didn’t quite click for me. Although the story was original, it felt like 100 other horror movies I had seen before, was very predictable, and was nowhere near groundbreaking. Sally Hawkins killed it but the rest of the cast seemed to trail behind for me. The gore and makeup was fun and well done but that’s about one of the only good things I have to say about this movie.…

I know I have to give this movie credit where it’s due since it’s over 100 years old but the whole entire middle section of this film is a SNOOZE fest. This is the first time I have fallen asleep during a film in the last 5ish years.

Eggers did a wonderful job pushing the source material to its limits and creating a new and updated version of Nosferatu for the big screen to see. I can’t think of any other director that has the creative outlook, cinematography capabilities, and cynical tone that Eggers does to pull it off. My one big complaint about the movie is that Nosferatu’s mustache makes him look like the Polar Express conductor 😂. Also Eggers needs to chill with some of the eroticism in this movie.
