Daniel Bayer’s review published on Letterboxd:
Well, Mike Mills has done it again, and by "it", I mean created a gentle, deceptively deep, and beautifully humanistic film about two generations coming to a deeper understanding of each other, played in the key of life with deeply felt performances that are perfectly in tune with each other. At times, almost feels more like a documentary than a work of fiction, since everything is so naturalistic. Joaquin Phoenix is delightful, Gaby Hoffman is once again a fascinatingly complex presence, and WOODY NORMAN. WHAT A FIND!
