Lately have been really attuned to a few faces of actresses who will pique one eyebrow and leave me an internally blubbering emotional mess! Michelle Williams lately has been one of them. Love performances like these where you can feel every frustration roiling underneath but maybe it's scary to yield lest it requires more vulnerability? Am I reading too much into it?? Anyhow. Reminded me of Jeanne dielmann for sureeee. I liked to imagine Andre benjamin played the flute somehow diegetically

High key a better musical than a complete unknown...... thematically and in execution.

Kinda felt like the blues and its historical genesis/influence were the bones of the whole movie and then there's all the gory vampire stuff on top. Loved Coogler blending/ chopping up so many genre influences and this being the grand result. Awesome spectacle, high emotional stakes. Now that I've sat w it I can say I really liked it !!
