so which shitty Amityville Horror sequel is this?…
“it's so cool in the deep water. it's so cool in the deep.”
they tried really hard to make a pool scary, and to little success. more than anything i was trying to stay focused. this shit was Boring! i am drowning in mediocrity.
the scares here were incredibly predictable. there wasn’t anything noteworthy about a single performance or character so that doesn’t help. i don’t know if Wyatt Russell is acting or just talking…? genuinely, i can’t tell.
i mean it when i say that there Are some sequences and ideas here that could’ve been pretty awesome, had they been executed right or fleshed out properly. but because the pacing and structure is so disted, not much feels satisfying or paid off.
“Sterioid Shrek over here thinks he owns the damn pool. think we can take him?”
Night Swim is not offensively bad. but it is painfully unmemorable as well as generic. this is just a collaboration of sub-par scares mixed with jagged pacing and bland concepts. everything done here have been done better elsewhere. this isn’t horrible—it’s just really boring.
you’d swear this was the Only pool in the goddamn country, based on how excited everybody is about it. it’s so silly.
